Tai Chi for Health * Short Set Learning & Practice Instructor: Dianne Erickson Date: Tues. and Thurs. (except Thanksgiving!) Oct. 29 through Dec. 3rd (10 classes) Time: 5:45 to 6:45pm Location: Downstairs Studio, CCAC Cost: $50.00 for CCAC members or $75.00 for nonmembers Minimum number of students: 4 Maximum: 12 A class for students who are ambitious to experience more comfort and joy in moving. We will learn and practice several routines in the Yang and Sun Tai Chi styles. Our focus will be on improving balance, coordination, strength and range of motion as we explore the underlying principles that enhance the benefits of practicing Tai Chi. Each class will also include some Qi Gong practice. Movements are adaptable for anyone who needs to be in a seated position. Age: Adults. Some experience recommended (see Tai Chi Fundamentals workshop). Note: Participants will need to sign a release confirming their readiness to participate in the physical activities of this class and, if necessary, obtain clearance from their health care professional before commencing. Students should wear clothing and footwear that are comfortable and appropriate for exercise. Shoes are required. In consideration of those with sensitivities, please refrain from wearing any strong fragrances.
