Baker Broncs & Bulls
The Baker City Bronc & Bull Riding committee originated its event in 1995 to produce a one-day bull riding to raise funds for charity. The bronc and bull riding event is Baker City’s largest annual event.
The bull riding consists of 40 entrants in the first go-around. Of these 40, the top 10 riders by qualified ride and score advance to the final championship go-around.
The saddle bronc riding competition Friday evening was added in 1997. The bronc riding consists of 35 entrants in the first go-around.
The top 10 qualifiers in the first go-around advance to a second go-around, and then, the top 5 of the second go-around advance to the winner-take-all championship go-round. Contestants in each event will be competing for $25,000 in total prize money.
The events have attracted cowboys from throughout the United States, Canada and Australia. The quality of the cowboys, and livestock provided by top Contractors ensure excitement year after year.
The arena layout and seating setup pattern truly make a viewer’s paradise. There is reserved seating in the grandstands and the first right of refusal is given to the historic ticket buyers; a waiting list has existed for any reserved seating vacancies since the first year of the bull riding.
Bleacher seating is provided for general admission. Get your tickets early as the bull and bronc riding events are a sellout each year.
