Instructor: Aaron Frohnmayer, New to Crossroads Location: Pottery studio Minimum: 3 Maximum: 8 students per session Description: Learn to make art that you can use. This class covers techniques for making functional clay vessels using handbuilding. Areas covered include designing templates, the properties of clay and how to get the most out of the material, and slip glazes and decorative techniques. Students will have making options including pinching, coil, slab, or a combination. Work will be glazed, fired, and returned to students at the conclusion of the class. This is an introductory class that requires no previous experience with art or clay. Continuing students will learn how to construct more complex forms. Aaron Frohnmayer has taught art for over 13 years working with elementary through high school students in Montana, Oregon, Kuwait, and Qatar.
