Tai Chi for Health * Short Set Learning & Practice Instructor: Dianne Erickson Date: Wednesday and Friday, April 3 through April 26 (8 classes) Time: 9:45am to 10:45am Location: Downstairs Studio, CCAC Cost: $40.00 for CCAC members or $60.00 for nonmembers Minimum number of students: 3 Maximum: 12 Learn and/or review short sets in the Yang and Sun (pronounced “soon”) Tai Chi styles. We will focus on continuing to improve balance, coordination and range of motion as we work on the details of each movement included in the sets. We will also examine what should be happening as we transition from one movement to another and work on improving our flow as we perform the sets. Movements are adaptable for anyone who needs to be in a seated position. Age: Adults. Some experience recommended, but may be taken concurrently with Tai Chi for Health Fundamentals (see class above). Note: Participants will need to sign a release confirming their readiness to participate in the physical activities of this class and, if necessary, obtain clearance from their health care professional before commencing. Students should wear clothing and footwear that are comfortable and appropriate for exercise. Shoes are required. In consideration of those with sensitivities, please refrain from wearing any strong fragrances. Dianne Erickson is certified by the Tai Chi for Health Institute as an instructor for Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, Diabetes, and Rehabilitation. “My goal is to help students discover the benefits of practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong, and learn how to easily make it a regular part of their daily personal care and health routines.”
