Qigong and Tai Chi for Health – A Practical Approach Instructor: Dianne Erickson Dates: Wednesdays: June 5, June 12, June 26* Last day for student to join class: June 3 Times: June 5 and June 12 from 8:30 to 10:00am; June 26 from 8:30 to 11:00am Location: Downstairs Studio Age: Adults. For all levels, beginning and continuing students. Skill level: All levels welcome! Beginning students---learn foundation movements that will help you discover the many benefits of practicing Tai Chi and Qigong on a regular basis. Experienced students--- explore ways to deepen your current practice and gain even more benefit and enjoyment from performing your Tai Chi and Qigong routines. Minimum number of students: 3 Maximum number of students: 12 Cost: $40.00 for CCAC members or $60 for nonmembers Description: Improve balance and coordination, reduce stress, and have FUN! Qigong is often translated as “energy work.” Qigong exercises focus on coordinating breath, movement and mindfulness to build strength, flexibility and improve balance and overall health. We will use learning and practice of Tai Chi short sets in the Yang and Sun (pronounced “soon’) styles to integrate the principles we explore in our Qigong exercises. Participants will need to sign a release confirming their readiness to participate in the physical activities of this class and, if necessary, obtain clearance from their health care professional before commencing. Students should wear clothing and footwear that are comfortable and appropriate for exercise. Shoes are required. In consideration of those with sensitivities, please refrain from wearing any strong fragrances. *The final workshop in this series allows an additional hour for review and individual coaching.
