Pottery with Shannon – Beginning Wheel Throwing *Two Sections!* Instructor: Shannon Hunt Gray Dates: Mondays September 9th - October 7th (5 classes total) Last Date for Student to Join Class: September 1st Time: TWO SECTIONS (students sign up for their preferred section; class projects will vary so students will not be able to attend a different class section if they miss a class) Section 1 (morning): 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Section 2 (evening): 5:30 - 8:30 pm Age Requirements: 21 and over Min # of students: 5 Max # of Students: 7 Supplies: $30 fee will cover a bag of clay and firing Course cost: $75 for members/ $112.50 for nonmembers In this course we’ll jump on the wheel the very first day! You may get frustrated, it may at first seem impossible - but I assure you it’s not! In this short class series we’ll focus on making simple forms on the wheel; classes will include instruction on preparing clay, throwing on the wheel, trimming pots, and glazing. Feel free to BYOB and/or snacks! Please note that instruction will begin right at the beginning of the class and it’ll be hard for me to catch up students who arrive late. Make-up classes/instruction will not be available unless a regularly-scheduled class needs to be canceled.
