Column 1 Pottery with Shannon ? Handbuilding *Two Sections!* Instructor: Shannon Hunt Gray Dates/Times: TWO SECTIONS (students sign up for their preferred section; class projects will vary so students will not be able to attend a different class section if they miss a class) Section 1 (evening): Wednesdays September 4rd - October 23nd (8 classes total) Time: 6-8pm Section 2 (afternoon): Fridays September 6th - October 25th (8 classes total) Time: 1-3pm Last Date for Student to Join Class: September 1st Age Requirements: 21 and over Min # of students: 6 Max # of students: 8 Course cost: $80 for members/ $120 for nonmember Supplies: $30 fee will cover a bag of clay and firing In this class we?ll explore the versatility of handbuilding in ceramics! From pinch pots to coil building, to working with slabs, to combining various handbuilding techniques, we?ll dive right in and start playing with clay on the first day! We?ll create functional, unique pieces that we?ll then bisque fire, glaze, and final fire in the Crossroad?s kilns. We?ll also explore decorative techniques such as texturing and applying underglazes for added pizzazz! No experience needed. Come join us for this fun hands-on course and feel free to BYOB and/or snacks! Please note that instruction will begin right at the beginning of the class and it?ll be hard for me to catch up students who arrive late. Make-up classes/instruction will not be available unless a regularly-scheduled class needs to be canceled.
