Time: Saturday 10 AM- Noon Location: Upstairs Studio Cost: $10.00 member/$15.00 nonmember Supplies: Students should bring a printed photo of their pet, preferably in black and white, and between 5X7” to 8X10” in size. All other supplies will be provided by the teacher. Supplies include: drawing pencils, rulers, variety of erasers, drawing paper, handouts, variety of pens, and more. Age Requirements if any: 8+. Kids and adults welcome Skill Level Requirements if any: none, all levels welcome Minimum: 4 Maximum: 16 Learn about pencil drawing and ink drawing, while creating a portrait of your pet! We will do a series of drawing exercises, to learn different tricks for drawing with pencils and pens, and students will finish class by creating a portrait drawing of their pet. Learn how to draw with graphite and ink, while creating a portrait of your pet! We will do a few short exercises and in the process learn tricks for drawing animals, including: how to draw fur and other textures, and how to translate a photograph into a drawing. We will also learn about different kinds of pens, erasers, papers, and inks. Students will finish class by creating a portrait drawing of their pet. Welcome Back to Crossroads—Jenna Lechner, Portland, OR Jenna Lechner is an illustrator, teacher, and writer living in Portland, OR. She is currently watching Scandal, drawing, and wearing a knit sweater out-of-season, probably. Jenna studied art and art history in Florence, Italy, and the University of Oregon. She received a bachelor’s of fine art degree (in printmaking) in 2010. She works in natural media like watercolor, gouache, and pen and ink. She also enjoys paper crafts, print media, and writing profiles in the third person.
