Not Your College Pottery Class – EXPLORING HANDBUILDING Instructor: Shannon Gray Dates: Fridays March 1-29th, and Fridays April 12th and 19th (we are skipping first Friday in April) - 7 classes total Time: 1-3pm Location: Crossroads Pottery Studio Minimum number of students: 6 Max # of Students: 8 Course cost: $70 for members/ $105 for nonmembers Supply Fee; $25 for 25 lbs of Clay and all firing charges and free use of the Crossroads Studio during your scheduled class. Age Requirements if any: 21 and over Complete course description: Adulting is hard! Take a break from your un-ending to-do list and join us for an easy, fun, and relaxed pottery class. *The perfect class for those who took this winter’s “Not Your College Pottery Class - Beginning Level!”* In this class we’ll explore the versatility of handbuilding in ceramics! From pinch pots, to coil building, to working with slabs, to combining various handbuilding techniques, we’ll dive right in and start playing with clay on the first day! We’ll create functional, unique pieces that we’ll then bisque fire, glaze, and final fire in the Crossroads kilns. We’ll also explore decorative techniques such as texturing and applying underglazes for added pzazz! No experience needed. Come join us for this fun hands-on course and feel free to BYOB!
