Kids Craft Class Instructor: Dawn Marie DeLara Dates: Saturday April 21 Last date to sign up: Friday April 20 Time:1-3 PM Course cost: $10 for members/ $15.00 for nonmembers Materials fee: $5 Supplies Provided: Polymer clay, pin back, ribbon or cord Student should bring: Journal or sketch book, if you use one (see 4/7 altered notebook class for a chance to make a handy art journal). Also, a small box (tea box size) or carton to transport unbaked clay project, which will be no larger than 4” x 4”. Age requirements: Geared to 3rd – 6th grade, child 6 or older may participate with a helper parent, and older tweens and teens have been known to enjoy this project, too. Skill Level: doable by a beginner, experienced clayers can up the challenge with details. Minimum number of students: 4 Maximum number of students: 8, (10 if most are 6th grade and older) Complete course description: Got a super power? Of course you do, and if you don’t know it, we’ll unveil it, and then make it into a polymer clay emblem to wear or add to a future art project. Swish! Wow! Sign up now! We’ll spend some time journaling and listing and talking about our best personal traits, and the ones we most wish we had, and then design a personal crest that symbolizes our super powers. With this as a template, each student creates a one of a kind badge or pendant from polymer clay to take home and bake.
