Whether a beginning potter or advanced you will be able to make a variety of shapes, either hand built or thrown, learn to burnish them to a high sheen and try a variety of surface treatments and firing methods. We will fire some in saggars with organic materials in my gas kiln, do a sawdust and cow pie fire, smoke pots in newspaper after applying tape and resist slip designs, and also build and fire a small tepee kiln. These various techniques can be used later to make many different kinds of pots.
