    Name: Free Movie Presentation: 'Tapped'
    Date: February 28, 2019
    Time: 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM PST
    Event Description:
The Baker City Trash Talk group has arranged to have a free showing of the movie titled, ‘Tapped’ on February 28, 2019. The movie presentation will take place at the Churchill School, 3451 Broadway and the doors will open at 5:30 pm with the movie starting at 6:00 pm. The film, ‘Tapped’ looks into the bottled water industry and documents how it is wreaking havoc on the environment. It examines the role of this industry and its effects on our health, climate change, pollution and our reliance on oil. The filmmakers focused on corporate giants such as PepisCo and Nestle’s Waters. They visited their factory as well as running tests on the bottles the company uses for its product. The documentary also focused on the number of bottles that are recycled, noting that "Forty percent of bottled water is really just filtered tap water and every day we throw away 30 million single-served bottles of water as plastic waste.” Bottled water doesn’t just come from your grocery store. It comes from small towns across America where citizens argue their way of life and ecosystem have be disrupted as a result of corporations coming in and claiming ownership of the public’s water supply. This movie, ‘Tapped’, covers every aspect of this damaging industry, inspires outrage and ensures that you will never look at bottled water the same way again. Popcorn and drinks will be available for sale. Please bring your own drinking & food containers if possible. Join the group in the conversation about bottled water and learn how you can become committed to making a positive change in our community regarding waste.
