Instructor: Dawn- Marie De Lara Dates: May 26th (One Day Only!) Last date to sign up: Thursday May 25 Please sign up in advance. If you don’t, I can’t possibly know how much of what to pack up and bring. Time: 9am-11am Price: $10.00 for members / $15.00 for NonMembers Materials Fee: $10.00 per door Supplies Provided: Polymer clay and sculpting tools Student should bring: Bring a small box, or carton to transport your unbaked clay pieces home in. A shoebox lid or similar will be plenty big enough. If you want to match scale to other fairy garden pieces you already own, bring a few of those pieces along. Age requirements: 12 and older, Kids 6 and up with a helper parent (who may sign up to make their own project if they wish). Skill Level: Beginner is fine Minimum number of students: 2 Maximum number of students: 10 For this class, helper parents don’t count separately, and may sign up and pay to make their own project, without affecting total count. Course Description: Give your garden fairies, or any fairy anywhere, a fine entrance using easy to sculpt, brightly colored polymer clay, a material you might know it as Sculpey or FIMO. Fairy doors can be placed wherever you want to invite fairies to take up residence added to the base of trees, the faces of human buildings, or even inside on a wall. If you finish your door quickly, you may want to make steps, a welcome sign or mat, or other porch accessories. These pieces will weather several summers in the great outdoors, barring encounters with lawn mowers or clumsy human feet… just like the fairies. These projects are easy enough for beginners, but details can be added by experienced clayers, so this class is perfect for anyone. Do fairies frolic in your garden? Not yet? In this second of 3 May Fairy Furnishings workshops, you can make a bridge, signpost, and special stepping stones to lead them into your own garden realm.
