With thanks to the Reser Foundation, Crossroads is partnering with Baker 5J School District and the school ESL Family Liasion, MaLena Wirth to expand Hispanic Heritage Month in October.
Friday, November 1st at Baker High School Commons — The community is invited to celebrate Día de Los Muertos or “Day of the Dead” at 5:30 PM. Guests will be able to purchase tokens for $1.00 each which allows them to purchase samples of South American and Latino cuisine — a full menu and costs will be posted to the Crossroads Facebook page. The event welcomes a Mariachi Band from Pasco, “Mariachi Jaliciente de Pasco” who will be performing. Throughout the evening many of the school programs will be recapped for those who missed them. The photos and ofrendas will be on display in the commons. We will be building a community ofrenda this evening and Community members are invited to bring photographs of deceased family members and include them with the community Ofrenda. Community members are invited to stay and enjoy the program where MaLena will share more history and traditions. Updates will be posted on the Crossroads Facebook Page!
